Etanercept
Indication
Monitoring of the Etanercept level.
Method
Note! From May 1, 2024, concentration determination is performed using a new method (ELISA), which is comparable to the previous method.
Concentration determination is performed with ELISA, in serum.
Result
Drug concentration is reported as concentration (µg/mL). Measurement range: 0.005–500 µg/mL.
Interpretation
The sample should be drawn at trough value. Low or unmeasurable concentration of the biologic pharmaceutical is associated with poor clinical effect and increase in dosing should be considered. Antibodies against Etanercept (anti-drug antibodies, ADA) are rare.

Koncentrationsbestämning utförs med ELISA i serum.
Resultat
Läkemedelskoncentrationen anges som koncentration (µg/mL). Mätområde: 0.005–500 µg/mL
Tolkning
Provet bör tas vid dalvärde. Låg eller omätbar koncentration av biologiskt läkemedel är associerat med sämre klinisk effekt och dosökning kan övervägas. Antikroppar mot Etanercept (anti-läkemedelsantikroppar, ADA) utvecklas sällan.
